Australia beat South Africa in the first ODI by three wickets and got off to a positive start in a five-match series at the Manguang Oval, South Africa on Thursday.
Chasing the target of 223, the visitors had an early shock as David Warner was removed on the second ball of the innings by Marco Jansen.
After losing Warner's wicket, Travis Head gave his side a bit of a relief as he scored 33 off 28 which included seven boundaries but he fell prey to Lungi Ngidi.
The visitors had a setback as Cameron Green was hit by a Kagiso Rabada bouncer which forced him to leave the game and Marnus Labuschagne came in as a concussion substitute.
When Labuschange came to bat, the Aussies were 113-7 in 16.3 overs and Sean Abbott had just lost his wicket.
However, Labuschagne and Ashton Agar built a match-winning 112-run partnership and took their side over the line.
The 29-year-old cricketer played a valiant knock of 80 off 93 balls while Agar scored 48 off 69.
The Aussies now lead the five-match ODI series 1-0.
Earlier in the first innings, the Proteas' skipper Temba Bavuma single-handedly took his side to a decent total by scoring 114 off 142 balls. His knock included 15 boundaries.
After coming to bat as an opener, Bavuma stayed till the end and watched all of his batters leave for the pavilion.
After Africa's skipper, their second-highest scorer was Jensen with 32 off 40.
Josh Hazlewood three and Marcus Stonis took two wickets and made sure that the home side doesn't score more than 222.
